Martin bond work done during spring break

Renovations and repairs at Martin School buildings were done over spring break as a result of a band approved by voters a year and a half ago.

The $1.715 million bond was passed by voters in November 2023.

In a bond update released Monday by Superintendent Samantha Ball, she reported that some of the work has been completed during spring break.

She said demolition work took place in the elementary library, as the space is being prepared for a complete renovation that will take place over the next several months.

The library renovation is currently scheduled to be completed in time for the start of the 2025-2026 school year.

Crews removed ceiling tiles from elementary classrooms for new duct work for the upcoming HVAC improvements that will begin this summer.

All elementary classrooms have had ceiling tiles removed and stored elsewhere so they are not an additional distraction/obstruction while school is in session.

“While these changes will certainly be noticed by our students, especially in their classrooms, please explain to them that it is part of the exciting bond construction process that will make our school building better for all.”
