Francisco Medina, 50, of Wayland, was killed Tuesday afternoon in a truck-car crash on 142nd Avenue west of Kalamazoo Avenue in Leighton Township.
Troopers from the Michigan State Police Wayland post said a pickup truck was eastbound on 142nd Avenue at about 4 p.m. when a westbound passenger car crossed the center line and caused a head-on collision with the pickup truck.
The driver of the pickup truck, Keith Salas, 57, of Wayland, was transported to Spectrum Hospital for treatment of non-critical injuries. The driver of the passenger car was pronounced dead at the scene.
The crash remains under investigation. Assisting the State Police was the Allegan County Sheriff Department, Leighton Fire Department, and Wayland EMS.
