Celebration of life Tuesday for Amy Syers

Amy L. Syers, age 62 of Wayland, died Tuesday, June 17.

Amy was born on Sept. 28, 1962, in Grand Rapids to Robert and Linda Force. She married Arlie Syers Jr. on April 23, 1983.

Amy built a meaningful career through various roles in the Wayland area, most notably with the Wayland Union School District, where she dedicated 22 years of service before retiring. Her warm heart and commitment to others left a lasting impact on the community she loved.

In her free time, Amy found joy in sewing and crafting, often creating thoughtful gifts for loved ones. She had a green thumb and took great pride in maintaining her yard, especially her beautiful butterfly garden and vibrant pumpkin patch.

Above all, Amy cherished the time spent with her family – her greatest joy and life’s true passion.

Amy is survived by her husband of 42 years, Arlie Syers Jr.; children Stephanie (Kevin) Brooks, Sarah (Roberto) Camacho, John (Jacqui) Syers; grandchildren Abygail, Kardea, Elyana, Logan; siblings Dennis (Diane) Force, Christopher Force, Elizabeth (Mike) Kondrat, Eric Force; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Brian Force.

A celebration of Amy’s life will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, June 24, with visitation beginning at 11 a.m., at Kubiak-Cook Funeral Home, 312 N. Main St., Wayland. A graveside service will take place at Hill Cemetery in Wayland Township.
