Celebration of life Aug. 23 for Paul Burmania

Paul Burmania, age 79, died Friday, Aug. 8.

Paul’s life was truly rooted in love for family, friends and community. He spent his career in the excavating and road construction industry, where his hard work and genuine spirit left a lasting mark on all who worked alongside him.

Paul had a heart for service: coaching youth football, serving in the Lions Club, contributing to the Township Board, and faithfully caring for the township park in Dorr for many years.

When he wasn’t working or serving others, Paul’s joy was found in his family. From cheering on his children in their sports, to more recently watching his grandchildren take the field or court, he was their biggest fan. He also treasured time camping with loved ones, sharing laughter, stories and countless campfires.

He is survived by his wife, Donna; son, Ron (Leah) Burmania; daughter, Angie (David) Hondorp; grandchildren Kayla, Drew, and Austin Burmania, and Keri, Nate, and Keaton Hondorp; many great-grandchildren; brother, Neil (Sheri) Burmania; sister, Janice (David) Salisbury; and a circle of nieces, nephews and dear friends.

He was preceded in death by his son, Greg; parents Cornelius and Jenny; siblings John, Nelson, Gordon, Dave, Marie and Alice.

Family and friends will honor Paul’s memory at a celebration of life from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 23, at Byron Center Manor, Memory Care Building – The Gathering Place (2115 84th St. SW Byron Center.
