Stella Marie Farmer, known to most as Marie, age 87, of Wayland, died Sunday, Oct. 29.

She was born April 16, 1936, Marie attended Wayland Union Schools and was a proud Wildcat. She married Jack Farmer, on Jan. 14, 1955, renewing their vows for their 50th wedding anniversary. They settled locally in Wayland, and raised four boys: Gregory, Jack, Randy and Dennis.

Marie was a loving wife, mother, daughter, and sister. She always cooked enough food to feed an army and if you weren’t laughing, you weren’t living!

Marie is survived by her sister in law, Etta Lewis, brother in law, Terry LaFountain, her four boys; Gregory Farmer (Delton), Jack and Betty Farmer (Wayland), Randy and Margaret Farmer (Dorr), and Dennis Farmer and Denise Clelland (Hopkins). Also surviving are eleven grandchildren; Nikki, Jack, Angie, Mandy, Stephanie, Rachel, Cliff, Ryan, Bobbi, Kati and Tommy; 27 great grandchildren; and four great great grandchildren.

Marie was preceded in death by her husband; Jack Farmer; parents; Ted and Margaret Lewis; in-laws; Clifford and Wanda Farmer; siblings Harold and Norma Lenz, Jack Meade and Delores Engle, Larry and Patricia Wolthuis, Ben (Emery) Lewis, and Nancy LaFountain

There will be a celebration of life at from 1 to 5 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 2, the Wayland VFW, 735 S. Main St. There will be a eulogy, prayer, and sharing precious memories from 1 to 2 p.m.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Wayland Area EMS, or a charity of choice.
