Jack Allen Erb, 76, of Wayland died Sunday, May 5, from complications of pulmonary fibrosis and heart failure.

Jack was a Vietnam Veteran, was in the Army from 1964 to 1967 with honorable discharge. He received national defense metal, expert badge for M-14 rifle, Vietnam Service Metal and Republic of Vietnam Campaign Metal.

For hobbies he loved to leather carve, chip carve and making segmented bowls. He liked to go bowling and play golf.

Survived by sisters Mary Lou [Erb] Bacher of Anchorage AK, Carolyn [Erb] (Vaughn) Augst of Flora IN, Sister in laws Carol Erb of Freeport MI and Janet Erb of Clarksville MI. His wife Vicki Erb of Wayland MI, son Jeremy (Andrea) Erb of Charleston SC, daughters Kathi (Andy) Kles, and Karolyn (Lonnie) Beggs of Wayland. Grandchildren Ken and Kevin Jones, Austen, Amber and Alan Beggs, Austin Kles, Logan and Bailey Erb, and all his cousins, nieces, and nephews.

He was preceded in death by parents Jay and Helen Erb, Brothers Carl Erb, Robert Erb, and brother in law Jack Bacher.

There will be a Celebration of Life open house dinner at the Windsor Woods Clubhouse in Wayland from 5 to 9 p.m. Friday, May 17, . In lieu of flowers please make a donation to the Genesis Legacy program or a charity of your choice
