
Duane George Klunder, age 89, died Thursday, Feb. 12.
A dedicated worker for most of his life, Duane spent many years as a pipe fitter at Kelvinator, where he was known for his steady work ethic and reliability. He later retired from Ogden Martin.
Duane and his wife Barbara enjoyed their retirement by spending the winters in Florida at their home in Zephyrhills. He loved spending time on the golf course, camping in the summer, and fishing in the Crosby. He also liked spending time with friends at the Q-Ball in Fife Lake. Duane enjoyed playing euchre, hot fudge sundaes and dinners with family.
Duane was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Klunder; parents George and Julia Klunder; sisters Arlene (Burt) Hoeve, Mary (Arden) Thede, and many other relatives.
He will is survived by his children Scott (Sherry) Klunder, Joy (Phil) Burley, Sherri (Pat) Miklusicak; 11 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews and friends
Visitation with friends and relatives will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 17, at Kubiak Cook Funeral Home, 4330 18th St., Dorr. A celebration of Duane’s life will commence at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 18, with visitation one hour prior at Green Lake Calvary Church, 608 145th Ave, Pastor Mike Smith officiating.
