Celebration of life for Mark Stauffer will be Oct. 27

Mark Edward Stauffer, age 63 of Wayland, died Thursday, Oct. 17, at home.

Mark was born in Grand Rapids to Beverly and Clara Stauffer. He graduated from Sparta High School and served in the Army for eight years as a heavy equipment operator. After military service, he was employed with Mark’s Asphalt, Blanco Furniture, Instant Interiors, and AJ Venaklasen.

Mark truly loved his Second Amendment. He worked hard until his sickness took over, but said he wants to be remembered as the entertainer and left us with the message, “I had fun living my version of my life!”

Mark was preceded in death by his parents Beverly Stauffer and Clara (Tom) Marshall; and brothers Gordy and Bob Stauffer. He is survived by his wife, Cheryl Stauffer; two children Mark (Angie) Stauffer, Amber (Jim) Browneye; five grandchildren Dominic, Hunter, Jocelyn, Olivia, and Emily; siblings Dennis (Sandy) Stauffer, Patti (Chris) VanDyke, Jan (Bob) Becker, Becky Stauffer; and many nephews and nieces.

A celebration of life is planned from 3 to 7 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 27, at the American Legion Post 127, 4310 18th St., Dorr. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that contributions be made to Corewell Health Hospice in his memory
