Wayland High School graduate Kaitlyn “Kaity” Renee Kenyon, age 34, passed away unexpectedly in Dothan, Ala., on Aug.26, with her parents by her side.

Kaity was born in Hastings on Jan. 24, 1989, to Kimberly Kenyon and Ronald Terry. She had a zest for life and a feisty “can do” personality that pushed her to pursue her goals both professionally and personally. She graduated from Wayland Union High School then briefly attended cosmetology school before completing her certifications as a certified nursing assistant and certified medication aid working in Michigan and Iowa in nursing homes.

Kaity’s ambition led her to pursue an undergraduate degree in computer information systems at Florida Institute of Technology, graduating in May 2023 magna cum laude. Kaity lived in Bonifay, Fla., and enjoyed working at Esto Town Hall as a Town Clerk in Esto, Fla., and at the Harley-Davidson of Dothan dealership as a Motor Clothes Associate in Dothan, Ala.

Kaitlyn cherished her twin daughters, Arianna and Katianna, and sacrificed to provide the best life possible for them. An animal lover, Kaity had an adorable dog named Meshka who provided companionship to her and her children. She treasured her time relaxing on the Florida beaches with their soothing waves, cool breezes, and sense of unbridled freedom.

Kaity said that she wanted part of her to “float through the wind [above] the ocean.” She loved riding her Yamaha MT-03 motorcycle and was a member of the Stilettos on Steel motorcycle riding group.

Kaity is survived by her two daughters, Arianna and Katianna Kenyon; mother, Kimberly Bachelder; father, Ronald Terry; sister, Jacquelyn Bachelder; stepfather, Benjamin Bachelder; brother Austin Terry, sister Jordanne Terry, and many more family members, all of whom dearly miss her.

A celebration of her life was held Tuesday, Sept. 5, at the Chapel of James & Lipford Funeral Home.
