Celebration of Life is Wednesday for Cora ‘Momo’ Peck

photo_20160623_WM0070855_0_20160623Cora Jean Peck, 88, of Dorr, died Thursday, June 23. She was also known by her extended family in Salem Township as “Momo.”
She was born in the fall of 1927 to her parents, Gordon and Beatrice (Miller) Brown in Pickford, MI. Cora will be remembered for helping people for many years at Allegan General Hospital as a nurse aide. Her family remembers her as someone who never complained and remained humble all her life.
Cora’s passions included traveling and knitting. It was also well known and understood that she was the “SkipBo Queen.”
She is survived by her children, James (Deb) Peck, Richard Peck, Sharon (Terry) Nye, Dorothy Peck, Thomas (Barb) Peck, Donald Peck, and Lucy (Scott) VanVolkinburg. Also surviving are brothers, Ted (Wilma) Brown and Dale (Shirley) Brown and many many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Cora was preceded in death by her loving husband, Harold; a son, Ronald Peck; a daughter, Janice Martinoff; sister, Peggy Dutcher; brothers, Dean Brown and Barney Brown; and daughter-in-law, Joanie Peck.
According to Cora’s wishes, cremation has taken place. The family will hold a Celebration of Life from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, June 29, at the gathering place at Byron Center Manor (2115 84th St. SW, Byron Center, MI 49315).
