Celebration of life later this month for Gary Scheib

Gary Duane Scheib, age 73, died at his home in Wayland Monday, Sept. 1.

Gary was a true fan of all things Elvis! He loved his music and would even do impersonations, often unprompted, for his family. He had a jovial and fun personality, and knew there was a “correct way” (which was often his way) to eat certain foods. His family would often joke that he should write a book on how to eat different foods the “correct” or “Gary” way.

Gary is survived by his wife of 38 years, Robin Scheib; children Kirk Scheib of Arizona City, AZ, Scott (Jennifer) Scheib of Holland, Rachel (Jason) Workman of Byron Center, Seth Scheib (Chyna Schut) of Grandville, grandchildren Kayla (Mack) Gibbs, Kimberly Hull, Elizabeth Scheib, Alexis Scheib, Daisy Workman; great-grandchild, Kenley Gibbs; siblings Sandra (Greg) Smith, Diane Smith of Dorr; in-laws Vicki (Greg) Graczyk of Canadian Lakes, MI, Valerie (Bob) Bergstrom of Wyoming, MI, Rita (John) Arce of Cedar Park, TX, Merle (Barb) Shoemaker of Wyoming; mother-in-law, Rochelle Roe of Wyoming; special friend, Rod Mauchmar; and Joy and Jena from Wings of Hope.

Gary was preceded in death by his parents Duane and Laurene Scheib; and father-in-law, Merle Shoemaker.

Per his wishes, cremation has taken place. A celebration of life will be held later in September – dates and times to be listed at a later time.

In memory of Gary and in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Wings of Hope Hospice or a charity of one’s choosing.
