Celebration of life Sept. 24 for Vietnam vet James Hull

James G. Hull, age 74, died Friday, Aug. 12.

Jim was born in Cadillac, the son of Betty (Lattimer) and Delbert Hull.

James was drafted into the U.S. Army as a medic in the Vietnam War in 1968. Upon his return, he worked for Wickes Corporation (Bumper) for 24 years. Jim and his wife bought Kountry Korner of Alto in 2003. He managed the convenience store until he retired in 2008.

Jim is survived by his wife of 43 years, Laurie; children Leesa Hull and Tyler Hull; grandchildren Dillon and Kendra Weller; and longtime friends Tony Dombrowski and Chris VanderMeer.

Celebration of Life will be held for 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 24, at Brookside Village, 3130 Slater Ave., Kentwood. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the veterans association of your choice.
