David Carl Westfahl, 65 of Wayland, died Wednesday, Sept. 26.

David was born in Allegan, on Oct. 13, 1952, the son of the late William Westfahl, Jr. and Marilynn (Emmons) Westfahl. He was a welder by trade and was considered very accomplished in his field of work. He was a very hard worker, whether it was when he was younger working on the farm with his father or the other jobs he held prior to welding. If he wasn’t working, he was out riding his Harley with his many riding buddies. He enjoyed putting in long hours with welding, but when he was finished, he was always anxious to get on his Harley and ride.

David leaves behind one son, Bryan Westfahl; his granddaughter, Brandi Westfahl; two great-grandchildren, Leevigh and Harleigh; his sister, Sharilyn Westfahl; his stepmother, Janet (Solomon) Westfahl; his niece, Malissa Westfahl; several great-nieces and nephews along with many cousins.

Besies his parents, he was preceded in death by his nephew, Michael Westfahl and great-niece, Mykhayla Westfahl.

A Celebration of Life gathering has been planned for 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 13, at the Wayland VFW Post # 7581 (735 S. Main St., Wayland). The family looks forward to sharing stories and memories during this time.
