The Celebration of Life service for Virginia “Ginnie” White will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the United Church of Wayland. She died Saturday, Aug. 18, at age 90.

Ginnie lived a life of service and generosity. She served on the Gerald R. Ford Field Service Council for the Boy Scouts of America, worked at Camp Gerber every summer, served on the board of the local food pantry.

Ginnie was also active in her church with committee positions and service groups, leading the acolytes. She was a Sunday School teacher until just two years ago. Baking delicious muffins from a “secret” recipe was another way she gave of her time and talent.

She is survived by her daughters, Deborah Adams-Jehl (Michael Jehl), Patricia Clark (Robert); daughters-in-law, Amy White and Shari Adams; grandchildren, Andrea Dendy (Caleb), Daniel Jehl, Samantha Wood (Brad), Kyle White, Brayden White; great-grandchildren, Daynah, Carter, and Tanner Wood.

Ginnie was preceded in death by her husband, Winfield Hollister Adams, II; husband, John P. White; sons, Kirby Adams, Keith Adams, Darren White; and parents, Winfield Jacob Flagg and Nan Pearl Flagg (Wolcott).

A time for relatives and friends to gather will be announced at a later date. A Celebration of Life will be held 11 a.m. Friday, Sept. 14,  at United Church of Wayland, 411 E. Superior St., with visitation prior to the service beginning at 10 a.m. Rev. Bonnie Simerly will officiate.

In honor of Virginia, contributions may be made to United Church of Wayland
