Edward “Ed” Hoover, age 58, of Shelbyville, died Tuesday, Jan. 23.

He was born July 11, 1959, to Ross and Dorothy (Coffman) Hoover.

Ed graduated from the University of Michigan and Western Michigan University. He was a season ticket holder for Michigan football for over 25 years, rarely missing a game.

Ed was an avid fly fisherman and conservationist. He also loved hunting, snowmobiling, and coaching his son’s baseball team.

Ed was a member of the Kalamazoo Valley Chapter Trout Unlimited, Grand Rapids Civic Theater, and East Grand Rapids Rotary Club

He is survived by his wife, Lynn, of 32 years; children, Alexander (Carmen) Hoover, Michelle (Bryan) Rose; siblings, Marty (Lisa) Hoover, Douglas (Julianna) Hoover; grandchildren, Bryan and Connor, and many nieces, nephews, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Ross Hoover, and brother Michael Hoover.

A Celebration of Life Rendezvous will be held in July. Cremation has taken place. Per Ed’s request, there will be no service.
