Wayland Union High School will present “Choose Your Own Oz” the weekend of March 3, 4 and 5 at the Fine Arts Center.
The play is written by Tommy Jamerson and directed by Rebecca Black.
The production is a “Wizard of Oz meets Choose Your Own Adventure” in this fresh and fast-paced retelling of the L. Frank Baum classic in which the audience plays playwright and gets the chance to to change everything from Dorothy’s footwear (silver slippers or ruby red… clown shoes?) to Toto’s species (lion, tiger or octopus? Oh my!) to the Wicked Witch’s flying footmen.
“Choose Your Own Oz,” intended fort for children of all ages. reminds us all that at the end of the day, there really is no place like home.
The performance Friday and Saturday will be at 7 p.m. and the Sunday matinee will get under way 3 p.m. at the Wayland Union Fine Arts Center, 870 E. Superior St.
