Citizenship, athletic awards presented to Wayland High School seniors

The Japinga, Multer, Citizenshiwinger citizenship award webp and Athlete of the Year awards were presented Tuesday evening at annual Senior Awards Night at the Wayland High School Fine Arts Center.

Morgan Winger received the Citizenship Award, the highest honor for a senior. Students were given academic awards by each department. Collectively, the Class of 2015 earned $2,180,068 in scholarships!  Students were awarded scholarships from many local organizations and from colleges/universities.

Morgan Winger also received themulter  japinga awards web Harry Multer Awardmale  female athlete of year web and Aaron Roblyer received the Louis Japinga Award. These awards are given to the top female and male athletes of the year. They are based on athletic ability, citizenship, scholarship and leadership.  They are selected by vote from the varsity coaches.

Presley Hudson received the Female Athlete of the Year and Aaron Roblyer the Male Athlete of the Year.  These awards are given to a senior male and female athlete who exhibit outstanding ability and participation in his/her four years in high school. The criteria also includes sportsmanship, character, desire and contribution to team success.
