The Wayland city election will be conducted without City Clerk Lee Ann Clausen, who has been on medical leave throughout much of this year.
Clausen, who often has been confined to a wheelchair and who is responsible for supervising elections, has not been at her post and has missed a number of City Council meetings.
Officials said there is no word as to when Clausen is expected to return.
The processing of sending and processing absentee ballots, and verification of election equipment has been carried out by Deputy City Clerk Joyce Jenkins., who will supervise the election in Clausen’s absence.
