City of Wayland hopes to have new clerk by Feb. 16

by Joseph Schultz

Wayland City Manager Erik Wilson said today he hopes to introduce the city’s new clerk at the council meeting Monday, Feb. 16.

Wilson said the city received 88 applications for the position. Six of those candidates were selected for interviews. Two candidates were identified as being good for the role, but one of those candidates declined to move any further in the process.

Wilson stated that city officials are checking the references for the remaining candidate.

The new clerk will succeed Leanne Claussen, who resigned for medical reasons at the end of 2025.
