The Wayland City Planning Commission Tuesday night approved a site plan request from DW Lee Mini-Storage for a 120-unit storage facility at 325 Clark St.
Business representatives told commissioners they were willing to add as many as a dozen trees at the site to improve its appearance. It is located next to a truck repair business in an industrial area. There is another storage facility nearby.
In other business Tuesday, the Planning Commission:
• Agreed to hire Tricia Anderson of Williams & Works to serve the city as a planning consultant. She will be present at commission meetings when site plan requests are made. Professional Code Inspections will continue to handle other commission business.
• Officially swore in new commissioner Keith denHollander in his first meeting.
- Adopted the group’s by-laws, including insistence that the membership consists of seven, not nine commissioners.
- Agreed to move the date of the nest meeting from Nov. 11, Veterans Day, to Wednesday, Nov. 12.
