Cold and snowy winter weather closed schools and the Then & Now historical library in downtown Dorr Wednesday, causing a delay in publishing the “Bygone Days” weekly feature.
Despite attempts to negotiate another time, the feature is still being delayed. An attempt to reopen Then & Now Saturday failed because of some bad snowy and slippery roads, so negotiations for resuming the column continue.
Then & Now will be closed between Dec. 15 and March 15 this winter in an effort to save Dorr Township money for heating and lighting. However, Then & Now personnel have indicated a willingness to open the facility once a week to facilitate Bygone Days once per week during the three-month hiatus.
