A Community Conversation about housing in Allegan County will be held from 10 to 11:30 a.m. Friday, Aug. 29, at Wayland City Hall.

The Allegan County Housing Initiative, which is coordinating the event, is a community-led effort spearheaded by the Allegan County Community Foundation to address the significant housing shortage in Allegan County.
The initiative aims to quantify the need, identify solutions, and facilitate the development of more affordable housing options.
A housing needs assessment commissioned by the foundation revealed a need for over 6,200 new housing units by 2027, with a focus on low-cost rentals and moderately priced homes.
