The Wayland City Council will have special meetings Monday afternoon to interview three candidate finalists for the city manager’s post.

The sessions are scheduled for 3:30, 4:30 and 6 p.m. at City Hall council chambers. The council will interview Jared Ottenwess at 3:30, Patrick Jordan at 4:30 and Erik Wilson at 6.

Ottenwess currently lives in Troy and has 13 years of experience as a city manager in Florida and Michigan. He is a native of Grand Rapids and grew up in Portage.

Patrick Jordan has 30 years of experience in public service and currently is administrator for Ionia County.

Erik Wilson was Plainwell City Manager for 20 years and most recently has been chief executive officer for Texas Township near Kalamazoo.

The three will vie for the position vacated last July by Joshua Eggleston, who left after six years in Wayland to take a job as manager for Zeeland Township.

The agenda indicates the council will make its selection at 7 p.m. and craft a contingent contract offer. The job is expected to pay more than $100,000 per year.

All of the sessions are open meetings, so the public may attend.
