Diane Marie (Bala) King, 59, of South Haven, died Thursday, April 16,at the South Haven Health System.
She was born Jan. 6, 1956, to Chester and Annabelle (Smith) Bala in Grand Rapids. During her life, Diane worked as a packaging specialist at Perrigo. She retired in 2012 after 19 years of service there.
Diane enjoyed watching Deadliest Catch, her favorite boat being “Time Bandit.” She also loved watching sports cheering for the Detroit Tigers and for her favorite NASCAR driver, #88 Dale Earnhardt Jr.
She is survived by her husband, Terry King of South Haven; her mother and step father – Annabelle and Louis Harnish of Hilliards; siblings Brenda (Bub) Brainard of Burnips, Jim (Karen) Bala of Hilliards, Ron Bala of Burnips; step-siblings Chris (Boyd) Navis of Hopkins, Larry (Lisa) Harnish of Wayland, Steve (Jenett) Harnish of Wayland, Mary Harnish of Dorr, and Jane (Terry) Post of Wayland. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
Diane was preceded in death by her father, Chester Bala.
A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 16, at St. Stanislaus Catholic Cemetery in Dorr Township,where Diane will be laid to rest next to her father. The service will be officiated by Deacon Russ Pogodzinski.
