Spring supposedly had sprung Tuesday in the aftermath of perhaps the warmest and snow free winter ever experienced in these parts, but a Friday morning payback surprise paid an unwelcome visit.
Many local residents awoke to between three and four inches of the white stuff and making roads a bit slick for the morning commute. Ares to the north had it worse, as roads were clogged and some schools called off classes.
A spokesman from Martin Fire & Rescue posted on Facebook: “Please be cautious and courteous when commuting today. The roads are slippery and deceiving. Many area schools are cancelling activities; check with your schools.”
