The Dollar General store in downtown Wayland now will reopen after the collapse of its roof earlier this month.

Casey Joy, the manager of the local store, posted on Facebook this morning, “As many of you know, the awning fell off Dollar General last week and I, as the manager of the Wayland Dollar General, would first like to say thank you to all that support our location.

“I know it’s had its ups and downs in the past but please know that myself and my team are working hard at the store to get it where it needs to be. There have been many changes made within the last few months, with more changes coming soon.

“We will be getting a remodel in March and I am hoping it will be exactly what we need. None of your voices are left unheard, I do appreciate it. The comments left let me know what the community wants us to work on as a team to better serve you all.”

Kudos to the roofing contractor that was able to fix the collapsed roof in record time. Very nice for DG and their employees. I wonder if their inventory was a complete loss. Cheers!!
