
The annual Dorr Business Association Fourth of July celebration this year will take place between Thursday, July 3, and Sunday, July 6, with most activities scheduled for the parks west of the downtown on 142nd Avenue.
Though the opening will be a flag raising ceremony by the Dorr American Legion post No. 127, the actual time has not yet been determined. Starting at 6 p.m., there will be Hot Rods at the Hardware, a carnival from 5 to 10 p.m.and the Freedom Glow Run at 9.
Most of the Independence Day action will be on Friday, July 4, starting with a craft market at 7 a.m. in North Park and a Dorr Christian Reformed Church breakfast from 7 to 10 a.m. Food truck will start arriving at 10 a.m. and they’ll be open until dusk.
The annual parade is set to step off at 10:30 a.m., followed immediately by the ox roast and chicken barbecue and the carnival will get underway at noon.
South Park will be host to bands, starting with Luke Lenhart & Friends from noon to 1:30, Jimmy & the Mortals from 5 to 7 p.m. and Deer Field Run from 8 to 9:30 p.m.
Fireworks will be offered at dusk.
The carnival will resume from noon to 10 p.m. Saturday. The Dorr Summer Sizzler NTPA truck and tractor pull will be held at 6 p.m.
Sunday will lead off with a community church service at South Park and the carnival will be offered for the last time from noon to 10 p.m.
