A Dorr Township teen-ager remains hospitalized after he was in a crash involving two dirt bikes June 21 on 146th Avenue near 17th Street.
Greyson Schuelke, 14, continues to be sedated and in a medical coma and there are hopes medical personnel can bring him slowly to a wake-up state.
Cortney Cooper, his mother, said on Facebook: “If he remains stable today without intervention we will start weening tomorrow. They will take things slow and the weaning process will take a day or two and then the medication will need to fully metabolize out of his system, but the goal is to make sure he safely wakes up without significant ICP (brain pressure) spikes.
“He’s looking so much better on the outside he won’t believe how he looked the first couple of days. We are working with his legs and arms moving things around for him to ease the rehabilitation when he wakes up…”

A GoFundMe has been established by Kendra Arnold.
“I can’t express how much I appreciate all of the support and generosity from all of you and how much you all care for Greyson, Cooper said. “We do not know the extent of the damage or what this will look like until he is awake but he will have a long road to recovery.”
