Dorr Elementary students held their annual Hoops for Heart and Jump Rope for Heart Tuesday to raise funds for the American Heart Association and educate students about heart disease and the importance of leading a healthy lifestyle. Fourth-grader Tayler Lutz raised $1,273 in honor of her grandfather, Don Anderson. Betty Onopa, physical education teacher at Dorr Elementary, has organized the event for more than 10 years.
