The Dorr and Leighton Township Fire Departments Monday afternoon battled a barn fire near 140th Avenue and Kalamazoo Avenue.

The blaze, which was reported at about 4 p.m. caused Leighton firefighters to come to the scene and Dorr personnel arrived shortly afterward.

Authorities said Monday evening they weren’t sure yet about the cause. The fire involved the barn and several other buildings on the property.

There were no reports as yet of any injuries.

Hopkins Area Fire Department was moved up into the Wayland station to provide backup. Also assisting at the scene were Wayland Area EMS and Consumers Energy.
