John Dufon age 87, of Dorr, died in Bradenton Fla,, at his winter home, on Feb. 3.
Born in Freesoil Mich., May 9, 1929, he his wife Renee Dufon while working on the Ludington Car Ferries. Shortly after John served his country in the Korean War. He and Renee then moved to Grand Rapids, were he started working for Lear Sigler,which was later changed to Smith Industries. He worked his way up to senior quality engineer before retiring.
He was a life time member and past commander of the American Legion Post#127.
He is survived by wife of 65 years, his daughter Marjorie, five grandchildren, Jason, Julie, Danielle, Chistopher and Janelle. He had a great grandchild, Paul, whom he adored.
He was preceded in death by his son, Mark Dufon, parents, and three sisters.
John has been cremated and there will be a memorial held in the spring.
