Dorr native Dale J. Kaminski has accepted a position with Leggett and Platt, replacing the national account manager in furniture components upon his retirement this spring.
Kaminski posted on Facebook, “After several years of dealing with tax seasons that ran as long as a late-nineties TV series, I’ve decided to return to the corporate world.”
Leggett and Platt began in Carthage, Mo., in 1883 and now has 135 plants in 17 countries, producing steel, plastic and foam components for the furniture, mattress, flooring, automotive and aerospace industries.
“In short,” Kaminski said, “it’s a big company that makes lots of little things no one ever sees. And most important of all, Leggett and Platt’s mascot is Felix, the cat in the coil shown in art work), who, according to legend and the official Leggett and Platt history book, would regularly sneak into the Texas spring plant and nap on top of the coils.”
