The Dorr Township Library again will coordinate a local candidates’ forum for four people seeking two seats on the Dorr Township Board in the Aug. 2 primary election.
The forum is scheduled for 6 p.m. Tuesday, July 26, at Crosswinds Church. Library personnel sponsored a similar forum two years ago for three people who sought the supervisor’s position.
The four candidates expected to speak and field questions are Supervisor Jeff Miling and his challenger, Patty Senneker, Clerk Brian Boot and his challenger, Debbie Sewers.
There will be no comments by the seven candidates on the ballot for 72nd District State Representative.
“We were focusing on local candidates and with everyone wanting to hear from them, I didn’t think we’d have time for state, county, etc.,” explained Library Director Natalie Bazan. “We will also have someone from the fire department and the citizens road committee there to answer questions on the upcoming millage proposals.”
Bazan said not only are members of the public encouraged to attend they also may send their questions to the library ahead of time.
“Candidates for clerk and supervisor will not be given the questions ahead of time but the millage questions will be sent to the citizens road committee or the fire department so they can prepare statistics and factual information,” Bazan said.
