The annual Dorr Fourth of July celebration again will spread out over several days next month, with most events taking place at the Township Park on 142nd Avenue west of downtown.

The carnival will open up shop at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the park and will continue through Saturday evening, July 6. Included will be lots of kids’ games, carnival and food trucks.

The 5K Glow Run also is planned for Wednesday, July 3.

The annual parade through downtown Dorr will step off at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, the Fourth. It will begin at the American Legion Hall on 18th Street, proceeds South to 142nd Ave then West on 142nd Avenue to 20th Street.

Right after the parade, there will be a concert in the park in Dorr with Luke Lenhart and Dusty Chaps country band. 

There will be an artisan market from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, July 6, at South Park.

Patriots and Pin Ups Auto Cruise In will be offered at North Park.

A cruise organizer said, “We are going to do things a little different this year, registration for each vehicle will be $10 and all registration fees will be split 50/50 between our local Fire Department and the Dorr Business Association for future #Dorr4th events!” Boss Babes Pin Ups will be host for a pageant again this year and will hand out awards to three drivers.”

The Dorr Summer Sizzler tractor pull is scheduled for Saturday evening, July 6, promising a night of sizzling fun with tractors, trucks, and modified tractors. Classes include Light Limited Super Stocks, Hot Farms, Pro Stock Diesels, 4×4 3.0, Modified Minis and Modifieds.

General admission is $20 and kids 7 and under free.

Bleacher seating is limited, so bringing lawn chairs is encouraged. And coolers are welcomed.

Also includes kids games, food vendors, door prizes and more.

Live music at 4:30pm by Sheer Pandemonium Band.

The nondenominational church service will wrap up the festival at the township park at 10 a.m. Sunday, July 7.
