The Wayland Township Board Monday night approved, with conditions, the cost estimate from Moline Draintile LLC for installation on the back field of the new section of Elmwood Cemetery.
The move paves the way for the opening of three new rolls in the new section and officials said they hope to have everything up and running by the first of the year 2026.
In another matter Monday, the board approved payment of $2,252 total for the Eagle View 2026 and 2029 aerial photo exercises over the township. “This is a really good deal this time around,” remarked Township Supervisor Roger VanVolkinburg.
In other business, the Township Board:
- Noted that Surf Internet, a provider of fiber optic Internet services, is looking into paying the $500 fee and negotiating for rights of wa in the Gun Lake area.
- Noted that the paving of 125th Avenue in the township has been completed by the Allegan County Road Commission.
- Was told by Treasurer Sue Kamyszek that the Wayland Area Ambulance Service has received its new unit and has sold an old truck.
