The East Martin Christian School, open to grades K-8, has decided to open with in-person instruction for the academic year, despite concerns about the spread of the Coronavirus.

A spokeperson for the school said on Facebook, *We have very small class sizes with cohorts of less than 10 students. We are following the Allegan County Health Department and the state guidelines for safe reopening, such as: social distancing, frequent hand sanitizing and cleaning, and no mixing of cohorts.”

The spokesperson added that each classroom has its own outside door for safe entry and exit during recess and for minimizing hallway traffic. All subjects, including music, physical education and art will be taught this fall from a Christian perspective.

The Discovery Christian Child Development Center, located within the school, also will be open from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. for ages birth to 12 years.
