Eight WHS students take part in ‘Renaissance’ conference

PALs advisor Andrea BrownJostens and Student Council advisor Nicki Cardosa took eight Wayland High School students to the Josten’s Renaissance Conference March 27 at St. John’s High.

The Renaissance program is designed to empower students and educators to re-energize the educational atmosphere at their schools and create and seize new opportunities of success.
Students were inspired by keynote speaker Mike Smith’s message, which focused on living each day knowing that it is an opportunity to change lives and impact futures by being mindful of your legacy.

Hanna Moulenbelt, a junior, said “Mike’s talk was very inspirational.  He made some great points that really opened my eyes. After his talk, I feel that I can really make a difference, and that I have the potential to change the world.”

Students also attended breakout sessions about leadership and building a positive culture in their schools.
