Story of the ‘Mighty Mac’ bridge to be presented May 6

May 6 @ 6:30 pm - 7:30 pm

The program will be held at Leighton Township Library at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 6.

Celebrate the United States’ 250th birthday by learning about some of Michigan’s history through the story of one of Michigan’s most iconic landmarks. This fascinating program will take you behind the scenes—from how people crossed the Straits before the bridge, to how this incredible structure was built, and what it takes to maintain it today.

Even better? The presentation is led by Kimberly K. Nowack, former chief engineer and current bridge director of the Mackinac Bridge Authority—the first woman to hold both roles!
