Nolan Woodsworth was arraigned in Allegan County District Court Friday on a charge of open murder for the shooting last Monday night of Cody Cline, 35, at his Monterey Township home.
Sheriff’s deputies who responded to a 911 call said they found Cline lying in the driveway with obvious fatal injuries. Woodsworth was arrested in Grand Rapids and was lodged in the Allegan County jail. Authorities said he crashed his vehicle into a tree in the area of 134th Avenue and 24th Street.
Authorities said they responded to a call just before midnight Monday from Allegan Central Dispatch about a shooting incident at a residence near 130th Avenue and 30th Street. Officers were told by subjects at the residence that an individual who had been visiting the home had shot one of residents outside and then fled the area.
Witnesses told deputies that a visitor, believed to be Woodsworth, had fled the scene after shooting a man who lived at the home.
