Fierce rain, storms erase memory of local drought

A week ago, many in drought stricken West Michigan were saying they were praying for rain, but as the old saying goes, be careful what you wish for, you just might get it. Some local amateur weather observers were suggesting this area has been inundated by more than seven inches of rain, whole more conservative estimates are around five. However, late Saturday afternoon things got more serious when more than three tornado touchdowns were reported in Calhoun, Montcalm and Iona counties east of Allegan County. There were power outages and trees that went horizontal as well.
