A fire Friday morning destroyed a barn at the Schaendorf Dairy Farm in Monterey Township.

Firefighters from the Wayland Salem Township departments arrived at the scene, about four miles northeast of Hopkins, at about 8:30 a.m. and found the structure fully involved in flames. No cause has yet been determined.

Officials said the farm owner, John Schaendorf, was away on vacation at the time of the incident.

The farm is located near 28th Street and 130th Avenue in Monterey Township.
