The “Battle of Heroes” charity softball game at Moline July 18 raised about $1,200 for the Michigan Special Olympics program, according to John Paul Damveld of the Allegan County Sheriff’s Department, one of the organizers. The area fire department personnel prevailed by two runs over the deputies.
