The Livestock Auction House just north of the Wayland city limits caught fire this morning, but quick action by the Wayland and Leighton Fire Departments confined the damage to the front office area. Tom Miller, who works next door at the Auction House Cafe, said firefighters were able to make a quick enter with SCBA and knocked it down fast. Auction House officials said, “Please use extreme caution and do not get in the way of the firefighters.” All cattle and people are safe!” The auctions for Tuesday were canceled, but Miller said the cafe would remain open until 4 p.m. (Photos supplied)
