Donald Martin Stampfler, 65 of Prairieville Township, died Sunday July 2, at his home on Crooked Lake after battling AML cancer for more than a year.

Donald was born Jan. 6, 1958, in Battle Creek, the son of Buddie and Maxine (Bailey) Garrett, and was employed by International Truck for 25 years and then retired after 17 years of working for Hopkins Public Schools, where he maintained the bus fleet.

Donald loved hunting and always looked forward to spending summers at the lake with family and friends.

On July 27, 2012, in Hastings, he married Christine K. (Wright) Stampfler who survives him. He is also survived by his two children, Garett (Sonja) Stampfler, Mindy Stampfler; four step-children, Max, Jordan, Trent Morton, Elle Timmerman; five grandchildren, Tyler, Gabrielle, Calvin, Maycie, Maddie; four sisters, Teena (David) Sink, Carla Garrett, Mary (Greg) Burlingame, Kathy Stampfler-Rackley; brother, Ron Stampfler; several nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held 11 am Saturday July 15, at Williams-Gores Funeral Home, Delton.
