Former Hopkins schools employee Pamela Cuperus dies

Pamela Rae Cuperus (Funk), 67, of Hudsonville, died Wednesday, June 26, at her home.

Born Sept. 9, 1951, in Grand Rapids, she was the daughter of the late Herman and Dorothy (Wolf) Snoeyink and was the wife of Larry John Cuperus. Pamela had worked for Hopkins Public Schools for 14 years prior to retirement. Though retired, she filled her spare time with trips to the casino, working in her yard, as well as a multitude of different projects and hobbies.

Besides her husband, Larry, Pamela is survived by her children, Stephanie (Joe) Ruel, Corey (Shara) Funk, and Marcia Funk; stepchildren, Cheryl (Jim) Porter, Trecia Cuperus and Jodi (Kevin) Jenkins; five grandchildren, Jackie, Jarred, Sadie, Kaitlyn and Marlee; three great-grandchildren, Aaliyah, Ryder and Harlow; twelve step-grandchildren; and six step-great-grandchildren.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Tony Funk.

The family will receive friends at Gorden Funeral Residence, Hopkins Chapel, from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, July 1, and again from 10 to 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 2. The funeral will begin at 11 a.m. Burial will follow in Maplewood Cemetery and the family will have a luncheon at Hopkins Community Church (2142 128th Ave., afterward.
