Former Kessler’s employee Sandra Hammer passes at age 61

Sandra K. Hammer,3873283 61, of Allegan, who worked for many years at Kessler’s Undies and Woolies in Wayland, died Saturday, Aug. 27, at Wings Home in Allegan.

Born March 5, 1955, in Allegan, the daughter of Everette and Treva (Kelsey) Snyde, Sandra also worked for Kessler’s in Wayland and Haworth and Friedlens, both in Allegan. A favorite hobby of hers was sewing, it was like second nature to her. Some of her other hobbies were reading, gardening and shopping. One thing she loved more than shopping though was being a wife, mother and grandmother.

Sandra is survived by her husband, Robert; three children: Robert and Jeannie Hammer, Angelia Herbert and Samuel Smith, Barbara Ann Menkel; eight grandchildren: Michael, Kelsey, Alishia, Isiah, Ian, Zoey, Alaura and Leann; three great-grandchildren: Aiden, Avi, and Timmy; her mother, Treva Snyder; three brothers: Greg and Tammy Snyder, Raymond Synder, David Snyder; three sisters: Debrah Bodine and Tony Schmitt, Theresa Bolen, Linda Snyder; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, and brother and sister-in-laws. She was preceded in death by her father, Everette Snyder.

A Celebration of Life for Sandra will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 11, at Trowbridge Township Hall.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital (501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105).
