David J. Boone, age 58, of West Scranton, formerly of Moline, died at home on Sunday, after an illness.
Born on Aug. 12, 1958, and son of the late Elaine and Ronald Boone, he earned his bachelor’s degree from Baptist Bible College. Dave owned and operated for more than 30 years Boone’s Refrigeration Co. of Scranton, a job he both enjoyed and worked extremely hard at.
Dave took joy in many activities with family, including camping, traveling and playing cards amongst many other.
He is survived by his loving children, Rachel Thomas, Hannah Leeds, Elizabeth Morris, Timothy Boone and Paul Boone; his former wife, Virginia Boone; four grandchildren; and siblings, Gene and Brian Boone and Laurie Helmholdt, all of Michigan, where Dave was raised.
Funeral services by the Rev. Dr. Julian Evans are scheduled for Thursday at 2 p.m. in the Kearney Funeral Home Inc., 125 N. Main Ave., Scranton.
