Mary Jane Wisniewski, age 90, died Monday, Nov. 9.

Mary, known as “Jane” to her friends, was a charter member of Woman’s Auxiliary VFW. She worked as a paraprofessional for Wayland Union Schools.

Mary was named the “Word Wizard” in the Grand Rapids Press for her scrabble expertise. She also played a mean hand at Euchre, and was cut-throat at shuffle board at the Wayland VFW. She was known for her sense of humor with her family and friends. She loved her Mogen David wine and friends’ visit’s on her deck.

Jane and her travel companion Cliff Doublestein had many fun adventures in their latter years and Jane enjoyed sharing her photos and memories with friends and family.

She is survived by her children Patricia (Neil Moore) Wisniewski, Dan (Cindy) Wisniewski, Nancy (Patrick) Hammond; grandchildren Andre and Patrick Currie, Pete Prather, Matt, Mike, and Steve Wisniewski, Cal and Taylor Hammond; great-grandchildren Andrea Terracina, Love, Joy, Harmony, Patience, and Steve Wisniewski, Ryan Taugher, Reese and London Hammond, Quinn and Noah Prather; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Andrew; and son, Joseph.

In honor of Mary, and in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Wayland VFW.
