Four WHS students chosen to sing at state level competition

Eight Wayland High School students earned high ratings Saturday, Feb. 7, at District Solo & Ensemble held at Ottawa Hills High School.

Each performer learned two contrasting pieces, sang in multiple languages (including Italian and French), and performed a solo in front of a judge.

After earning top district scores, Jenna Hendricks, Lexi DeLaney, Ariel White and Gracelynn Jorden were selected to travel to Allendale High School April 18 to compete at the state level, where they’ll also complete a sight-singing evaluation.
