According to the National Weather Service, an arctic air mass will settle into the region on Friday, Jan 22, bringing with it dangerous temperatures through the weekend.
Temperatures will reach the single digits, with near record setting lows across the state. With wind chills, it will feel between -5°F and -20°F. In such conditions, frostbite can occur in as little as 30 minutes.
To prevent hypothermia and frostbite, it is advised to remain indoors when possible.
